Baby update!

Hello all!

Had another wonderful trip back to the US. It was a short one, but I had a lot of time to spend with my friends and family. 3 great baby showers and lots of wonderful things for the baby to be. I guess he already is a baby - so the baby to come! :) I still have 3 boxes of stuff to send home from my Mom's. A BIG thank you to everyone for the excellent gifts for the baby!

Today I had a doctor's appointment - it was an ultrasound and a glucose screening test. The ultrasound was good, but for some reason we can't see the baby really well for pictures, so I won't be uploading the most recent ones - not much to see. According to the doctor the baby is about handfull size - he sure feels bigger than that jumping around in there!

The glucose screen was interesting...gross, but interesting. I had to drink really really sugary water - like 4 dixie cups of it - just as I'd down one she's be mixing up another - funny, I usually look forward shots about this size - shhhh I don't want to think about how I miss drinking! :) Anyway, then I had to go sit for an hour to let the sugar kick in I guess. Once that hour was up they take blood and then make you wait another hour to take your blood again. Did I mention that I was fasting through this process? I had to fast from 10pm the night before and was so hungry by noon today when I finally finished. We'll see what the results are - it tells you whether or not you have gestational diabetes. Fingers crossed that it's negative!

I miss everyone already, but I tell ya - Abu Dhabi is sure beautiful around this time - everybody plan your trips! The weather is 75, breezy - paradise. Okay, I'm off to start unpacking!
